As I predicted my experience at the X Factor bootcamp was over in just one day... I sadly packed my stuff and went back home. In two days they got their 5 lucky contestants from the initial group of 33.
Here's the video of my audition, feel free to comment.
See you!
Have I got the X Factor?...
I think I do...
...I got through the audition for the first series of the X Factor here in Italy :)
Late february I'm going to boot camp...
I don't stand a chance to win but I hope to get in touch with someone in the industry :) :) :)
The prize is a 300.000 euros contract with Sony BMG...
I'm happy eheh
We have a new acoustic set.
We have new songs.
They are still demos, some of the words are wrong, some don't make any sense, but still...
Face it, you will NEVER write songs like these :)
If you like our music then please DO SOMETHING!!!
1. Spread the word
2. Contact us for gigs, collaborations, whatever (mail me at sagon@tiscali.it)
3. Visit http://www.myspace.com/wearetheglitch
...And we are booking gigs :)
But please send the music army to Rome because we don't have enough clubs!
And I'm off to the gym...
See you!
These days my life is continuosly falling into pieces and fixing itself, these ups and downs are hardly bearable! I'm just changing probably, I just hope I don't change for worse.
I realised I have no interest for labels that sign acts like "Scouting for girls" or "Calvin Harris" as much as they don't have any interest in our music. I'm not saying this with hatred, it's just that these labels are interested in a pop act (or sensation), which I will probably never be. I always thought music is a serious matter and when I listen to something I want more than pretty faces and catchy hooks, but I am just one in a target market of millions. People who find Calvin Harris enjoyable are not less musically-taught than me, we are just different, I am standing at the Editor's side while they like to dance, we probably even dress differently!
I heard some really good artists here on Vox, mostly the silent ones who rarely post something on Columbia/Rca blogs. I'd really love to have the knowledge to set up an indie label and sign you all, but I'm one who can barely afford to pay for rehearsals so that'll just have to wait for a little longer.
This is not a matter of giving up, it's focusing on the objective and finding ways to reach your goals. For OUR music this is a waste of time, but it could be really precious for YOUR music.
...And you get to see the eyes too.
Thanks to Daniele for these. You can see more of his work at http://maudit1974.altervista.org
Sorry Voxers, don't mean to wake you... -wink!-
How do you find a producer? Do you send demos to him? Do you lure him to your nest with a trail of chilling cold beer? All I know is that we need one, 'cause you can't really produce your work when you are too much into it and that's what's happening to us.
Will you be our producer? We don't have any money but we could still sell our kidneys for it.
Side note: I booked my holiday in Ireland, I'll be there in August (5-19), give me a buzz if you want to hang out. I still have to post some photos /videos form last concert, hopefully will do on the weekend. It's bloody hot in Rome. We renewed our MySpace profile. Yesterday I bought the complete Monty Python Flying Circus collection on Dvd. Indieboy sent me a message with some useful advice, nice guy he is. -wink!-
