Delicate souls

Delicate souls
This is strange I never felt before / Such kind of dryness coming from above / These are days in which our lips are cold / Our hearts are sweating, there is no control // But I know we'll be through the storm / we'll grow wings hard enough / No more hiding you and me / We'll be there with delicate souls // Is this feeling just fake pain? / Who I am asking could not be aware / Slipping down I'm dragged into / Your secret room where everything is blue // But I know we'll be through the storm / we'll grow wings hard enough / No more hiding you and me / We'll be there with delicate souls // As I'm carried down I look for your hands - help me - this time you really got me, as I'm carried // Down, my love, I can't let go, this time you got me down / Down the trenches, through the bushes, this time you got me down / Now, my love, I can't let go this time you got me down / No surrenders, not even a winner, this time you got me down // How could you ignore the pain inside my mind when you can't get away from the thorns on your side? Do they sting at night? // Down, my love, I can't let go, this time you got me down / Down the trenches, through the bushes, this time you got me down / Now, my love, I can't let go this time you got me down / No surrenders, not even a winner, this time you got me down.

FANTASTIC SONG. I love the band The Calling and you match them.
I will take it as a compliment, thank you :P

Delicate Souls, really like this song.

There is definitely substance to your music and some nice melodic changes, however I think right now they're a little too intellectual and have a dreary monotone aspect to them. I will say I was pleasantly surprised by your originality as most of the bands I've viewed are not as fresh as you. These songs are not radio ready yet. The voice sounds slightly like Barry Manilow with a Depeche Mode/ The Farm/ Tears For Fears twinge to it. I don't know if the voice matches the music. The voice sounds very '80s British alternative, but the "rock" music clashes with the voice and sounds somewhat ordinary. At first I thought it was religious music. The problem when you're looking to get signed to a major label is that they're looking for a congruent package meaning they want a rock singer with a rock band, etc. And they want to feel confident that the band knows what format they fit into. A record label doesn't want to spend time trying to convert a pop voice into a rock voice or a rock band into a pop band and so on. Do I hear some Alice In Chains influence in there, I don't know if that's true. It sounds like this is two songs?! The second half is much more powerful than the first and is pretty impressive. The only problem is that it does sound unnaturally like two songs. Great voice though and definite talent.

Mmm, nicey nice backing, lots and lots of words, but of course alarm bells, the sweaty heart is a dangerous sign, a harbinger, an omen, a sign of worse to come - beware the perspiring kidneys, the dripping wet gallbladder, the sodden pancreas. You may be sickening and it might be wise to seek the advice of Dr. Klaus Wunderlick. Production is of course tricky - unless it is of the sputum...

Wunderlick

I think that's quite ok. The vocals are very good to my ears. There are some nice chords and some sentences you wouldn't normally expect to hear in a pop song. I don't want to say it sounds like this and that, because I don't think that's constructive at all. And why does it need to be categorised? And why can't a pop band have a rocky singer and vice versa? I am a little confused by all this. Did Lennon have a rock voice? Were the Beatles THE pop band. Isn't it what makes someone different the thing that quite often makes them good: literally outstanding? Do what you do well, follow your heart not the fads, and you may do well my friends... Take care and best wishes - Al
