As I predicted my experience at the X Factor bootcamp was over in just one day... I sadly packed my stuff and went back home. In two days they got their 5 lucky contestants from the initial group of 33.

we are sorry about the end of x-factor for you..but they were not looking for an x-factor..they were looking for a winner among the artists that they already knew..they are all known to the judges and the autors..but everything in this country rounds around this concept..

you were one of those who really had an x-factor..that's a loss for them!!the artists(mmh)they choosed will not last for long after the end of the program..

First off, get the words right to my favourite song mate...haha. Only joking. The reason, I feel, that your audition didn't grow wings, is that the performance seemed very "canned and "dry." But in honesty, if you choose a very well known song and you don't get the words right, you've probably lost at least one judge right there. The main reason you didn't advance is that you selected a song that wasn't right for your personality/voice. The song you chose is very "gospel church" with the rock element built in. You need a song that is part broadway and part Josh Groban. Now, I don't know if you were forced to sing that song, and if you were shame on them, but in the future I would pick a song that is more sculpted towards who you are, but one that the judges feel is a challenge. As a last note I would figure out what is your unique characteristic of your voice and really lean on that.

ehmmm...Matt, i DID pass this audition, I was eliminated later in the game, in the bootcamp phase. Yes, I know I said "fears" instead of "fields" but I assure you that happened because I was tensed and maybe a little ashamed. I get very emotional when I sing, and since I didn't audition for anything ever I was really embarassed but I did get through it.

About the choice of the song, I chose U2 because it's a great mix between rock and popular, that way I managed to appeal the pop taste of the judges and the show itself and hold tight to my rock heritage. I am a rock singer/songwriter, yes I could sing purely pop songs but then again I wouldn't sound natural at all, I couldn't convey any emotion.

Anyway, as I said, I never really stood a chance to win this game but it was fun trying anyway. I was chosen amongst 30.000-something people so that's boosting my morale, now I'm back to work on my music :)

I'm going to post a couple of videos from an acoustic show soon, I'll let you know when.

Thank you Libra, I'm not keen on blaming the authors/judges for choosing someone they already knew, though it's a fact that some of the chosen ones have ongoing record deals / agencies and that should put them out of the competition. Anyway, I'm fine, I had my experience, it was an eye-opener towards some aspects of the business, all in all it was useful.

Well, it was a terrific attempt. You sing quite well, so try not to sweat it. With your talent and perseverance, I suspect you'll eventually... er... find what you're looking for. ;)

I'm sorry but the Tv company decided this was against their copyright so they put the video down from youtube... I was getting a lot more views than their official videos :)
